UH is an amazing school. All programs are competitive, in the heart of the most diverse city in the country, any student will be able to find their home at UH.

Bad location but low-key becoming a big college and has great connections through alumni. Lots of spirit

U of H is constantly growing and using its opportunities to improve the lives of students. I feel supported and safe on my campus.
Overall 4.5
First semester here & already love it! Do not live on campus, but enjoy hanging out around campus. A lot of quiet places to do homework. Amazing community. Professors & Staff care about the students. Admissions and parking could use a little improvement, but overall an EXCELLENT University. Would definitely recommend!

The university has enough money to sponsor football teams but not to cover costs for PhD students to present their research in conferences. That's some tier 1 university budget goals to be proud of.
Overall 1
The administration frequently mishandles student issues, causing avoidable problems. Their approach is disorganized and there's a clear reluctance to accept responsibility. Notably, Houston's largest university is exceedingly lenient regarding its administrative staff's performance, leading to further inefficiencies.

Terrible.

The former head of the theater and dance department drugged and raped me. He is now at the University of Vermont.

DON'T RECOMMEND. This was one of my worst experiences as a transfer, to say the least. My intended graduation year has been delayed. Due to the fact that they make you take so many unnecessary courses since my previous college courses aren't equivalent?? Make it make sense. Honestly it's like they purposely trying to keep you here to waste money.
Overall 1
Faculty and administration are hostile at this school especially towards international students. Avoid this school if given the opportunity... Doesnt worth the effort or your money...
Overall 1
Social life is awful. Opportunities mediocre at best. Professors suck in most departments . Area is ghetto. Finally there is no place in the whole campus to buy healthy food such as froot. Every food you eat there is processed and unhealthy. Meal plans definitely not worth your money.
Overall 1
I wonder whether the university has policies protecting students from unprovoked disrespectful feedback from professors. Tenure is one thing, transferring knowledge to the newer generation is another, but verbally abusing your class by belittling and calling this performance-based feedback is a whole other story...
Overall 1
Unless they get rid of those old miserable egotistic geezer professors in the CS department, CS in UH will always be one of the poorest... Hire some new passionate people to teach, and don't use the politics-obsessed egotistic relics from the past...
Overall 1
Happiness and quality of education go downhill... Food options are also extremely limited, expensive and unhealthy
