This is actually a great school, and if you don't like it, you can't just rate everything a "1". It is in a bad area, but the school itself and surrounding area is well protected by police. In 4-years maybe like (3) emails about potential threats. Otherwise, GORGEOUS campus overlooking ocean. Beautiful views - homework overlooking the water.

So far it's a great school. Hopefully these ratings stay true!
Overall 4.4
The university is a bit different than most expect for college but it is a commuter school. Professors for the most part are great but some are a bit tough. Definitely recommend using RMP to check. Campus life is pretty minimal but its super easy to talk to people, definitely recommend taking advantage of the events and resources.
Overall 4.4
Campus is outside of the city and actually feels like a college campus because all the buildings and green spaces are closely knit. The old buildings are currently being updated and plan on looking great. Most professors care and will help you succeed but you may get an ok one here and there. The opportunities are there if you are willing to reach.
Overall 4.4
Nice school, good security. Lots of clubs and opportunities to get involved in extracurricular activities. Not a lot of relationship-making or friendships due to not having dorms, and everybody commutes to school. The price is great if you're from in state, so I don't see how anybody could complain about that.
Bad reviews

a very boring school

HORRIBLE!! it's still very much a commuter school. the food sucks, if you're picky you're defiantly going to have a hard time finding something you like. there is no type of life on this campus, if you could pick to go somewhere else you should!! the only good thing is how up to date the dorms are.
Overall 1.3
Online professors have no care for students, you can email them, follow up on the email multiple times, call their office number at different times, and no matter what you do you will not get a response from some ever. Taking advantage that you are not face to face so they just never respond even when its something you need to know to do an assignm
Overall 1.5
School is miserable. $15 dollar a day parking, overcrowded shuttles, no social life on campus, quad construction that has no end date, horrible food and dining common hours of operation, and the location means you are separate from every other college in the city. If you just want a degree go for it, but if you want actual college go anywhere else
Overall 1.5
Awful. The shuttle buses are no longer safe since they got rid of route 3. They jam way too many people onto them which is dangerous. I've already experienced an almost accident while on the bus this year. The academics aren't up to par either. I think they spent too much money making a new logo instead of putting it towards something more useful.
Overall 1.6
the only good thing about the school is the fact that theres a shuttle to bring you to the t station. Im only happy here when im leaving. they have terrible housing. i signed up for a large double and they stuck me in a forced triple. I have 10 sq feet to myself (not kidding). very clicky and no party life unless ur friends with people who host
Overall 1.6
The worst academic decision I have made in my entire life is to attend UMB. There are simply no words to describe what an awful experience it is to be an undergraduate at this school. You will not end up well-adjusted at all after coming here, leaving with only an unrespected degree to your name after you learn NOTHING your entire time here.
Overall 1.6
Education is similar to a community college. "College experience" is non-existent you're lucky if you make friends with your roommate. There are no campus events, any type of welcome week, club fairs, or things to make you feel a part of the community. The campus police are next to useless. Construction and the old classrooms make you ? ur safety.
Overall 1.6
Classes in UMB are ridiculously easy and I did not learn anything in the semester. Professors did not really want to teach. Classes were cancelled in the final week because of the budget cut in the chemistry department. The tuition were overpriced comparing to the quality of classes. Dorchester is not safe at all. Transferred out after a semester.
Overall 1.7
Location's great since it's close to the city. Internet in res halls are good, but in lecture halls is bad. Everything else sucks. People are rude, I don't feel safe, no one does clubs, nothing to do on weekends. School ends a day before holidays so it's difficult to come home if you live far like I do.Quite frankly, wish I never even went here.
