I came here for the world class wildlife bio program; I stayed for the community, nature, and opportunities. Beautiful campus, engaged staff, and invested students. If you are studying forestry, environmental anything, wildlife bio, etc...this place give unparalleled access to the natural world, for a unique learning experience.10/10 I do recommend

The best part about U of M is all of the student support services and profession prep services... Its just a great school.

I loved UM! My professors in the psych dept were super rad and were always there for me to talk to directly when I needed them. Even after I decided to change my major to psych my junior year, my advisors really pushed to help me graduate on time. If you want to go to a school where you can always get into your classes, go here!!
Overall 4.4
I love the University so much. It is so beautiful and the faculty and staff care so so much about their students.
Overall 4.3
Good school, nested between mountains and rivers.
Bad reviews
Overall 1
This school is trash.
Overall 1.3
Don't waste your time and money going here. That goes for MSU as well. Montana has become pretty terrible for people looking towards a university to improve themselves. This school has lost huge portions of funding and most of its student body to Bozeman. I spent many years here for a PhD and I couldn't be any more disappointed and dissatisfied.
Overall 1.5
Campus isn't bad but the professors are dismal at best. One or two gems and the rest are mean spirited, clueless, self-important jerks. They are NOT teachers. They are mostly researchers teaching because they have to or adult children hiding in the university system rather than work in the real world. You better like Moodle it is all they know!
Overall 1.6
Im enrolled in a fully online program because I dont live in Missoula. The online programs are worthless, especially for generals. It seems as though the worst rated professors are the only choices for completing generals. While I have been fortunate to have a few very good professors, Ive had more that were bad than good.
Overall 1.7
This school is AWFUL. Watch your back because we get a lot of text alerts about assaults. Don't waste your money here. The administration is all screwed up. The right hand never knows what the left is doing. Zero accuracy in communication. They over charge for everything. NO parking but you pay a fortune for a pass. Fees exceed tuition!
Overall 1.9
DO NOT RECOMMEND. They were very unhelpful, and for the whole first semester, I kept being told I would have my schooling completely paid for when in fact it was NOT. Had to scramble money together for it on top of FAFSA loans and other things. The professors were all mostly very compassionate and understanding, but a lot of it is underfunded.
Overall 1.9
The facilities, roads and parking are horrible. Just updated the small market in the University center and got rid of all of their healthy drink choices, now it's like a gas station store. The schedules (finals, start dates) are very counter intuitive. The buildings are in disrepair and very dirty like they never get cleaned.
Overall 2
People are very stuck up and the food is terrible. Good clubs are hard to find. Never room with someone you knew before coming to UM.
