You will love it. Professors are mentors here. Students are so nice. Really diverse and open minded place. You will make friends for life from students to professors. Come here, you won't regret it! PV!

I am a senior music major at Montevallo and I have had the PERFECT college experience. Montevallo has brought me a community of people who love and support me. I have made the best friends, had the most wonderful teachers and got involved heavily on campus. College night is a super cool tradition- look it up! The quality of education here is great.

UM is what you make of it. Come here with an open mind and you'll leave feeling beyond fulfilled and missing those bricks. (If you don't care about school, don't go to college!) Most beautiful campus in the state. Plenty of alumni connections. Super caring staff, though some professors aren't anything special. Great tuition value. Had a lovely time

Montevallo is the bomb. Just utterly amazing. A great school full of opportunities and the hangout spots are the best.
Overall 4.2
I have had an incredible first year here. The greek life is unique and approachable and the clubs are diverse and so fun! The only drawback has been the food available on campus are not good for those with dietary restrictions. I'm vegetarian and the options are hit or miss.
Overall 4.2
I love Montevallo! Best decision I ever made! Small class sizes and one on one time with professors! I wouldnt want to be any other place!

I had to transfer out after 2 years. If you're not involved with College Night, declared Purple or Gold, and or you're not Greek, then you will know no one and have like 2 friends. It is super clicky and in the middle of nowhere. Food and internet is horrible. I'm still so angry at myself for choosing to go here after high school.
Overall 1.6
There is a reason the retention rate is so low.

a former marine, 24 I can't wait to be done with this atrocity of a school. most of the teachers teach 'by the book' if you learn other ways you're out of luck! the tutors never really help, you have to PRY information out of them. one teacher always avoided the homework during class"rambles on about things, not relevant towards the homework.
Overall 1.9
My problem with Montevallo is its size. There are house parties on the weekends, and occasionally a "show", but other than that, social pickings are slim. Food choices range from McDonalds to KFC, with mediocre Mexican and "Chinese" food in between. Being twenty minutes from the highway, nearest Publix, WalMart, etc. is rough, but some love it.
Overall 2
Not a fan of this place, I'm transferring after two years of hell.
Overall 2
Really cant stress enough how much of a mistake Montevallo was. The best part of the whole experience was dropping and moving away from that waste of time.
