UNCA is a community of people who are very accepting of differences and for that reason it is a wonderful place to learn.
Overall 4.8
I have been here for 2 years and am enjoying it a lot. There are few downsides in comparison to the benefits. Love the small school atmosphere!
Overall 4.5
I truly feel great here
Overall 4.4
If you are not willing to communicate with your professors you will struggle. those who give it a bad review lacked the drive it takes to be successful in college. take advantage of internships and the professors who want to help! The food sucks but there are a lot of options off campus.
Overall 4.4
UNCA deserves a higher score. Scrolling down, it's clear the only people posting have specific personal problems with the school. The community/atmosphere is accepting and eccentric; some people love this and others find it odd. Campus faculty always make themselves available and the cafeteria serves pretty healthy, tasty food.
Overall 4.4
I have been here for four years and have loved it! Asheville is incredible and the professors are interactive and caring. GREAT class sizes of 1-30 students.

Great school!!!!!!!!!!
Overall 4.4
Great school with amazing professors
Overall 4.4
UNCA is a great college and well respected by other schools. Most everyone is friendly and willing to help and be your friend. Classes are small so teachers expect a lot out of students, and because it's a liberal arts school if you come here BE READY TO WRITE! I can't stress that enough. I have written 100 essays from 1pg-15pgs, most are around 5
Overall 4.2
I have loved my time at Asheville and recommend it to a lot of kids! It has opened so many opportunities and the staff has always been there to help.
Bad reviews

The Campus is horrible
Overall 1.2
The school's broke and dated. Males, working at Brown, harass female students. The broad at Title IX made students feel unheard and yelled at some over reporting harassers. Chartwells is overpriced trash. Housing calls the Woods, apartments, as 6 people are crammed in a space. Campus is small, so good luck if you don't care to see the same people.
Overall 1.4
Disappointing
Overall 1.6
They're so worried about hiring people that make them diverse, and it's the same with the student population. They don't care about getting quality people anywhere near as much as they care about how they look. If someone is in a position where they should be able to give assistance, they typically can't because they're lost too.
Overall 1.8
I had to transfer out of UNCA. The classes were fine, but don't expect any help to be given if you ask a question. The staff that assists with picking classes or handling issues is practically useless. The atmosphere of the school is very specific, and despite telling you they are accepting they do not practice what they preach.
Overall 1.8
I had high hopes for this school, as I was told that it was small, and community based with strong STEM programs. While I have had a couple of good professors, my experience has been awful for the most part. No active clubs, atmosphere sucks, some classes are graded harshly with no curve, a lot of professors are brand new as well. Transfer ASAP!

impossible to get here if you're not a local or at least a Carolinian, flying is not an option because the airport is small and expensive. If you're a bleeding heart liberal, this is the place for you. vegan food is very available but if you like meat and potatoes, you're going to go hungry here.
