Great school
Overall 4.8
Everyone who attends UVM should feel so fortunate. The academic opportunities and support are unmatched. The people here are also so cool and Burlington is the perfect college town! Its cost is its principal downside, but honestly, all quality Universities overcharge these days.
Overall 4.7
Honestly an amazing college. So many opportunities for learning and success in such a supportive environment.

UVM is amazing! I love it! Ski busses are very great. While Burlington is rated the #1 college campus in the U.S., it is not super close to other big cities. The airport is very expensive to fly into, and you have to connect on international flights. With 200+ clubs, UVM has a great deal of opportunities, available for everyone (small school).

Awesome place to study.
Overall 4.5
Great clubs and access to outdoors. All of my teachers have been really great. A bit of a partying scene my biggest complaint is on the weekends the library doesn't open until 10
Overall 4.5
This school is extremely fun and has so much to do. I feel comfortable here with all the kind people and faculty.
Overall 4.4
It depends on your major, your lifestyle, and your personal preferences, but at least for me I love UVM and have had a great time here so far. I love the weather, fall is beautiful, campus is amazing, people are nice, food is hit or miss. The social scene isn't as big as colleges that have a large greek life community, but I find things to do.
Overall 4.4
I love it here! Great classes, location, and people.

I love UVM.
Bad reviews

Math and comp sci student in CEMS: looking at my peers in similar schools and majors, and the type of resources they have (esp. opportunities for internship), UVM is NOT worth it. The professors are mediocre and the city is super depressing. Very difficult to feel like you belong b/c Vermonters love their pastoral vibes and are hostile to incomers.
Overall 1
As a UVM student, I struggled with housing issues and illegal rental practices by landlords/property managers who can do anything to tenants because of the extremely low vacancy rates. The city, with their anti-development regulations and policies, and UVM are the culprits because they cower to residents who oppose new housing in Burlington.
Overall 1.3
Food is terrible, even the type that looks healthy. Campus is nearly de*d from end of May to end of August, and by that I mean classes, people, food, resources, everything! You might as well be walking across the Sahara desert if you're on campus during the summer. Nimby mentality everywhere: buildings, facilities, opportunities, etc.
Overall 1.3
It's impossible to create a sense of belonging or claim diversity where the admin, faculty, and town residents are overwhelmingly anti-housing, anti-growth, and anti-poor. Students shouldn’t have to struggle with rent and illegal living arrangements because rich Burlingtonians don’t want to allow apartment buildings near campus.
Overall 1.6
Don’t buy the false advertising. UVM doesn’t care about students what so ever. The only time they step in is if there’s enough bad press and still nothing really gets resolved just brushed under the rug. 300+ students are added to each incoming class while dining halls close and majors are cut with no warning to students.
Overall 1.6
Not as advertised. UVM spends more on marketing than on hiring. Most of the faculty and staff are here for that steady paycheck and not great at instruction, helping students or growth. The school is for kindergarten education but athletes seem to do well here. That is about it. Dont expect to learn anything.
Overall 1.8
UVM is declining in reputation. It was once a a school that people sought to attend due to their academic rigor. However, over the last few years the university has been hiring teachers that have no experience in their discipline, burdened with news stories of questionable administrative behavior, and excessive spending on vanity campus projects.
Overall 1.9
Overrated and lacking in many areas.
Overall 2
Winters are BRUTAL with most days having sub-zero temperatures, and the wind chill makes that even worse, as UVM is on a hill. If you don't ski or snowboard then there is absolutely NOTHING to do once winter begins as Burlington is in the middle of nowhere. Food is horrible and academics are subpar. Very monoculture and everyone thinks the same.
