If you do not like the cold, Wyoming can be painful during the winter. Summers are beautiful and no one knows about this school. You can stand out at UW if you want to. It's easy to get involved, has a football team and greek life. The honors program is incredible and faculty is great. This school is the #3 outdoor college and #2 cheapest.
Overall 4.5
I was an out of state student who spent less on tuition then I would have staying in state. I was taught by amazing and world class teachers in state of the art buildings and equipment. This school and the camaraderie and the pride is just amazing.
Overall 4.3
You're in Laradise to get the biggest "bang for your buck" but in reality it's a great college too. There's clubs, teams, and it has a great set up for intramural sports. It's a cute, historic town with many restaurants and bars. If you like the outdoors you can be in the middle of nowhere in 5 minutes. Winter is a lil' rough though so be prepared.
Overall 4.3
I love the University of Wyoming. Always something to do since there are 3 national forest with in 45 minutes. Laramie got some many parks so you are never too far away from a good hammocking spot. Even with covid, there is never a dull moment here. All the people are great. The Professors are very understanding and relatable. All in all its great!
Bad reviews
Overall 1.1
The computer science department at this school is an absolute disgrace. Many of the professors want nothing to do with teaching and many struggle to even explain the topics that they claim to be experts in. If you are serious about learning computer science this is not the school you want to be associated with.
Overall 1.2
Dont go to the University of Wyoming. It may be cheap but that doesnt make up for how terrible it is to go to school here. Incredibly difficult to make friends, and mental health resources are slim to none. Was told by a UW counselor I needed to seek help elsewhere. Food is disgusting, and so are the dorms. Had the worse 4 years of my life here.
Overall 1.3
Laramie is a pit of despair.
