I'm a returning student and they have great opportunies for career change. They really listen. They are extremely helpful for academic resources if you are struggling in your classes. With tutoring and also professor class hrs. You just need to reach out for the help.

I can happily say that I have had great experiences in this school! I hand-picked my professors based on what I read on RMP; it has not disappointed me so far. With luck on my side, the Fall of 2024 will be the end of my amazing journey at Ventura College.

Great school, not to big and professors were all kind.

Friendly campus, really cool new buildings, and amazing student resources! There are some wonderful professors here who really care about their students and admin genuinely wants you to succeed. Every department is student-focused and they will go above and beyond to help you.

Ventura College is an amazing campus. They have many opportunities for their students, you just have to b willing to apply and find them.
Overall 4.6
Ventura College is AMAZING. If you are a student, you can even work on campus! That's the best for students, to work close to where you are studying, since you can work in between classes, and hang out. There is no cafeteria but there are food trucks. I just wish there was a cafeteria. But, otherwise it's perfect!

Pretty mid tbh. I took a couple of classes and didn't fit in. Then again it is the local community college, so I can't complain when the classes are alright and I save $30,000
Overall 1.6
Counselors always gone on conferences. Walk in should be available to every students same day. Resources are not there for the students with disabilities. Student affairs never calls back. ventura college is not student centered. more time should be invested to help students learn-- more tutoring time. Longer sessions without repeating my needs.
Overall 1.7
I've been here for a good amount of years, seems like most of the students are nearly similar to me and feel like they're just obligated to go to school. the problems i have with this school are probably going to be the same problems i have with every other one. College is just uninteresting. also most of the previous reviews are right about VC
Overall 1.7
Parking is terrible, lack of police presence especially at night, zero shaded areas, bare bones seating areas, constant construction noise, construction workers gawking at young students, filthiest bathrooms, classrooms are always dirty, cigarette smoke in the air, classes are cramped, students look miserable, Food trucks provide low quality food.
Overall 1.8
The constant construction sucks and new buildings look sterile. The Library is great. The PAC just looks stupid. NO CAFETERIA isn't acceptable! Crossing the streets around the campus on foot or bike is frightening. Most people enrolled are 18-20 or 40+. I am 30 and don't feel connections to the student body. Classes are easy. Counseling? Nope.
Overall 1.9
I fins this campus to not be welcoming and accepting. It's very hard to break into the social scene here as everyone sticks to themselves and their formed groups. In order to get through your classes, you just have to be your own advocate because no one else will be willing to help. But this campus is nice and has lots of green areas.
Overall 2
My personal experience has been that resources are not always available. Some professors really do care about their students while other not so much. Information is always sent to emails or social media however we are busy trying to learn they should take the time to come to class and talk about services. they need faculty and staff that care.
Overall 2
The financial aid office is VERY slow. Be willing to spend at least an hour in there because there's only one window open and 10 women talking in the back. The counselors know absolutely NOTHING about transferring to any other college in California besides Channel Islands. DON'T go to them for transfer help, call your dream university DIRECTLY.
