Students talk about this school

Good reviews
Overall 4.3
Very endearing professors. They care about student success.
Overall 4.3
Vermont Law School is a special school. Although the location may not be ideal, the education and community is incredible. Not to mention they were just rated the number one law school for women!
Overall 4.1
I wish there were a category to rate the high quality of individuals that chose to come through this school. Many are environmental, food, energy, restorative justice activists. Based on conversations with many friends at other law schools, students here are supportive, inspire and collaborate with one another.
Bad reviews
Overall 1.1
VLS conceals critical info students need to effectively evaluate risks of taking out student loans. It gives misleading employment statistics and default rates. Like the mortgage brokers and banks during the mortgage collapse, VLS uses unscrupulous methods to increase volume of loan lending without concern for the risks because it has none.
Overall 1.2
Too expensive for such a poor education.
Overall 1.4
The VLS scam utilizes the highest acceptance rate of all law schools and the cloak of a specialty label to ensure a steady supply of students, which it exploits to gain access to eduction loan dollars. Feckless VLS professors receive bloated salaries financed by student debt against the backdrop of a poor debt to earnings ratio for VLS students.
Overall 1.4
VLS is exemplary of the high cost-poor value, private diploma mills that drive the scandalous educational debt problem. Before taking out any loans to attend, know that it is a perennial third tier school that saddles students with Wall Street sized debt. Aspiring students are urged past the smoke and mirrors marketing that is its enviro rank.
Overall 1.5
Waste of time. Despite attending the #1 school for env law, the students and professors alike are rude and selfrighteous. The town is tiny, in the middle of nowhere, and filled with individuals who neglect to realize that without VLS, South Royalton would have nothing. Unless you have an in at VLS, good luck making a law review or moot court.
Overall 1.8
If you work extremely hard to network on your own you stand a chance of clerking after grad. Be warned. The faculty/ staff are stuck in the middle of nowhere and this place can be an echo chamber of misery. In my entire prof. career I have never encountered anything as unfriendly/rigid. I lost count of the threats, disciplines, and dramatic scenes
Overall 1.8
Im not sure why anyone would choose this school due to the cost compared to quality education. Im only still here due to proximty to where I live and the 2 year JD otherwise would have transfered after first semester. Very disappointing.
Overall 1.9
Minorities at this school are objectified to the point of students being expected to take positions based on race. I was willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt, until I attended a lecture where a VLS professor encouraged to students to think about when its "acceptable to kill" when thinking about Palestinians. Low job prospects too.
