I have really enjoyed being a student at this college. The Grille is a great place to stop in for lunch. They are continuing to improve the campus with new buildings and technology. The whole campus has definitely changed since I was here in 2011. They provide lots of extra learning help so that each student succeed.

Great school, love all the resources they have to be successful!

Vol state is a good community
Overall 4.7
Awesome place! Particularly the Nerd Hers, CAB, and student affairs! Would go back if I could!
Overall 4.6
I just to let you all know that this is the best place I have ever been! People, teacher, almost everybody are helpful and friendly. I would never regret choosing Volstate to start my path as a professional. Classroom are nice and clean. There is everything that you need: computers, printers, etc. Something that I do not like a lot is clubs:(
Overall 4.5
A lot of people look down upon community colleges, but Volstate is fantastic. Most of the professors and faculty genuinely care about us as students. The women in the cafeteria are the nicest people. Most of the students are super friendly. Ive made connections with most of the people at Volstate. It is a fantastic school, hands down.

Returning as a student after failing an entire semester years ago (just being careless) and I have to say that VSCC is amazing. Advising is quick to respond and helps in every way they can. I have been able to retake classes and rebuild my GPA. Go somewhere else if you want to party but for a solid education, Vol State is spectacular.
Overall 4.5
I have been at Vol State since the spring semester of 2016 and I really enjoy it. I've had several professors who went out of their way to help me. Just make sure you keep on track with your FAFSA and the class registrations. I've only been to the Cookeville and Livingston Vol State campuses, but my professors have been from Gallatin too.

I'm really proud to be part of the "Pioneers".

If you come to Vol State because of Tn Promise I get it. However PLEASE DO NOT expect to get top knock education and experience like other collages may give you. Also make sure you know what classes you need to take besides using degree works because they will not help you get the correct classes. Overall its free and you can tell it.
Overall 1.7
It is ok if you know what you are doing, but don't expect help.
Overall 1.7
I really didnt care for this school. Student events and engagement is practically nonexistent. Their idea of an event is coffee and donuts with campus police. It's a place where you do your time and leave. Go to Chattanooga State CC instead, its wayyyy better.
Overall 2
The campus definitely deserves more credit than what is said about it. Many chose Vol State as a form for their TN Promise scholarship, and that seems fair. It definitely feels like a form on highschool 2.0, and the professors, in my opinion, is what brings down its reputation. Most if not all don't want to teach here and aren't motivating at all.
Overall 2
Just a boring school with no culture
Overall 2
Very practical way to save money and stay close to home. Gallatin is close to everything and the city is cheap to live in. Be aware of transfer credits and different expectations when you move to another school. Otherwise, this place offers minimalistic facilities, surprisingly good professors and cheap ways to get your GenEds out of the way.
