I LOVE Walters State! I wish that it was a four-year school and that I could get all my degrees here. The entire faculty & staff are so friendly and helpful. There are so many fun things that happen on campus throughout the year. I had so much fun at Walters State. I would recommend this school 1,000%!

Great school!
Overall 4.5
This school is a GREAT way to get a start before transferring to a university with an engineering program. Great teachers, great facilities, and a pleasant environment. Very easy programs set up to show you what to take for transferring to Tennessee Tech or UT (and many others). This school gets a solid recommendation from me.

I originally attended WSCC from 1998-2001, and transferred to a four-year university, where I finished my B.A. However, as a personal goal, I came back to take a few courses and received the "missing associate's degree", from grad school and now I can proudly count WS as one of my alma maters. I give WS credit for starting my academic career.

I originally planned on attending uni for my bachelors straight out of HS. I am SO glad I switched last minute. The transition process was super easy and I love the campus and staff. The library is the best thing abt WS! I've enjoyed 9/10 of my professors thus far. So many resources, clubs, & tutoring opportunities! Cafe breakfast is the bomb!!
Overall 4.4
Walters state is the best, many opportunitys to get involved with the campus and the clubs. Teachers are great and advisors are wonderful. The teachers really care about you and will always work with you. Many places to get help with a tutor for any subject and the libray is my favorite thing. Highly reccomend!

A lot of the professors are great, some are not so great, but if you wake up early and sign up for the classes you want, with the teachers you want, you will be fine. Many club opportunities, many things to do, and great faculty.

This college will defeat you at every turn. If transferring to middle Tennessee or simply someplace other than UT and ETSU no one will talk to you about it or make time for you. Not all classes transfer as they tell you they would. You will be doing a lot of advising on your own. Meaning you have to stay on top of them in order to make it at WSCC.
Overall 1.5
Very "Southern" community college, minorities such as myself stick out and don't mix well. There are a lot of women, mostly middle-aged moms which doesn't give it a nice atmosphere for younger students. Has great teachers and a lot of good classes, but lacks a "culture" commonality for students that aren't from Morristown.
Overall 1.6
This school was a nightmare! I was an out of state student, who just came to take a couple of classes while I did an internship. The admissions office and the counselors are not prepared AT ALL to deal with anyone out of state and answer any questions. Huge waste of time. Now at the end of the semester, they are threatening not to give me acces

Don't go here if you have other options at all and AVOID any special programs. They try to recruit super smart students (30 ACT and 4.0) for special programs but then actually give them C, D, and F's in "innovative courses" and "flipped classes" after promising to curve. Flipped teach yoself. Okay for average students with no other options.

Worst Experience. The science & health prof. dept is not functioning on an acceptable level. The professors (several) are as discouraging & unhelpful as it comes. They give students unrealistic expectations about who gets into their Health programs and once in, lack of respect and concern gets worse. Online classes are HORRIBLE. Go somewhere else.
