This school is unlike any other it is situated near the Mississippi River so if you like hunting and fishing there is plenty of that! It is a pretty safe area especially compared to many other campuses. It had a smaller feel so many people know each other and class sizes are smaller so you get more individualized attention if you need it.

I had a best time in Winona state university. The people of International student service are the best people. They are so helpful, sweet and hardworking people. I really enjoyed there company. I love the environment too. I appreciate everything they did for me.
Overall 4.8
I was able to spend four years at this campus and it was the greatest four year experience of my life. I met lifelong friends and I earned a degree that has provided me numerous opportunities. The campus and surrounding areas is beautiful and compact and it’s has a great small-town vibe while still having things to do.
Overall 4.7
WSU was the best place I could have landed for college. It is in a BEAUTIFUL place with incredible access to the outdoors, very safe, kind and understanding staff and profs, and great opportunities to get involved because the school is on the smaller side. Plus, WSU is WAY cheaper than other options.
Overall 4.7
I absolutely adore this school, between the walkable nature, the hands on opportunities for all majors, and the fantastic faculty. I would highly recommend this school to anyone that will listen.
Overall 4.7
The school is amazing and the major faculty members like professor and office assistants are very very nice. Some employees are rude and try to make you feel like you did some thing wrong but its not you its them. Over all great school just ask Other student before taking some classes since some of the professors are stuck up and rude.
Overall 4.7
I transferred into Winona after completing an Associate Degree at another college. I really enjoyed my time at WSU. The professors are amazing and you have many opportunities for a university of this size. Perfect scenery for a campus, very safe-feeling, and it is overall inclusive. I couldn't imagine having went anywhere else.

I thought Id love this school because I could be not too close from home (2 hour drive) but theres NOTHING to do here! Hiking in the fall and spring is about it. If you like to go to cool places and try new foods and take cute insta pics (basic girl things) this school is not for you. I know 20 people in my class who decided to transfer.
Overall 1.8
Food options are nearly non-existent. The cafeteria has nearly the same food every day, quality is extremely poor and usually cold. Zanes, which was promoted heavily during my visit, is NEVER open. It is open for about 2 hours, and I, along with many other students have classes during this time. NEED more food options and longer hours.
Overall 2
I am an alumni and I always supported WSU. But lately things have been going to the dogs as it were. Seems the university has no direction. They sell properties and then buy more. They doze down beautiful old homes and buildings and put up parking lots. There have been some positive changes with some sustainability initiatives to their credit.
Overall 2
Very lackluster and lots of in-fighting that as a student I should not be aware of.
