Solution

The Hays Office, officially known as the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America (MPPDA) from 1922 to 1945, was a regulatory agency that censored film content. It was named after its chief, Will H. Hays, who was the postmaster general under President Warren G. Harding before being hired by film moguls to help clean up the movie industry's image. The Hays Office implemented what is known as the Hays Code, which set moral guidelines for what could and couldn't be shown in films. This code was in effect from the 1930s to the 1960s.
