  1. Recruitment Process:

    The training at LBSNAA is divided into two phases. The first phase, also known as the Foundation Course, is common to all civil services and lasts for about 15 weeks. It includes modules on law, public administration, management, and Indian history and culture, among others.

    After the Foundation Course, IAS trainees undergo the Phase-I training, which lasts for approximately 26 weeks. This phase includes modules on Indian administration, management, law, economics, political science, and other relevant subjects.

    After completing Phase-I training, the IAS trainees are sent for a district training in their cadre state for about a year. This training is designed to give them practical exposure and understanding of the administrative machinery at the district level.

    After district training, the IAS trainees return to LBSNAA for the Phase-II training, which lasts for about 8 weeks. This phase includes modules on public administration, management, and other relevant subjects.

    After successful completion of the training at LBSNAA, the IAS officers are posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrates in their cadre state for their first assignment.
