Profile of Uganda’s tourism sector with statistics in one detailed paragraph with references

Uganda's tourism sector has shown significant growth over the years. According to the World Bank, the sector contributed 7.7% to Uganda's GDP in 2019, up from 6.6% in 2018 (World Bank, 2020). The Uganda Bureau of Statistics reported that the country received 1.8 million international tourists in 2018, a 7.4% increase from 2017 (UBOS, 2019). The majority of these tourists came from Africa (54%), followed by Europe (16%) and North America (10%).
